Driveway Pavers: Our Favorite Paving Stones, Patterns & Designs for Driveways

Table of Contents

Driveway pavers are a fun and gorgeous aspect of your home’s landscape. There are pavers made of concrete, cobblestone, and even those that are “green”! Interlocking concrete paver driveways boost your home’s curb appeal, but like any other home improvement project we recommend taking your time in choosing the stones, pattern, and size that are right for you. Of course, sitting down with the pros at DPG Pavers for more personalized attention is a great first step, but even before that here are some popular stones, patterns, and designs for your next driveway project.

Brick Patterns

The part of your driveway where you or visitors park is arguably the most important aspect of the driveway, so it is important to have a good foundation. Brick pavers offer amazing flexibility in layout because they provide a strong foundation and can be placed in some amazing patterns. Brick pavers are also great at concealing discoloration and will not need much maintenance or repair for many many years.  Here are some great examples:

Concrete Pavers

Another great paver option is concrete. Concrete pavers are easier to install because they have flat bottoms and are slip-resistant for shoes or tires. Also, they are quite resilient and easy to repair. Finally, concrete pavers are extremely weather resistant and will not be ruined in snow, rain, hail, or other harsh weather conditions that other pavers might not be able to withstand. While they may have stain and color issues, these are easy fixes and should not discourage you.

Green Driveways

This is not necessarily the color green (unless you use grass), but it means adding more eco-friendly touches in between your pavers. Green driveways look different from other patterns because they are laden with plants or grass. They look natural, are great for the environment, and are easy to create and maintain.

Driveway Embellishments

Embellishing your driveway can add a nice touch and focal point to the area that can multiply your home’s curb appeal. Some typical embellishments/focal points include fancy paths, circles, geometric patterns, or accent lines. Try to focus on one embellishment in particular so as to not create conflict between your patterns, but feel free to try new things and go all out to create a fun area. They are easy to install and will look amazing for years to come.

Minimalist Patterns

If you are someone who does not want a lot going on but still wants to create some spark, try going for a minimalist pattern. Made from concrete material and a bit of plantation (usually grass is used), this type of driveway will not only add curb appeal and beautify your home but will make it environmentally friendly.
