Max Baer Park

Located on 1310 Murdell Road, Max Baer Park is an 11.8-acre special use park. The park is located between Jane Addams Nursery, Mendenhall Middle School and Smith Elementary School. There are seven baseball fields in the park that fit all ages. LARPD, Granada Little League and Livermore Girls Softball are split into fields. Barbecue pits, picnic tables and a dog park are on offer at the park. Granada Little League, Livermore Youth Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Pony Baseball, adult softball and LARPD programs are among the users of the park. From mid-November to mid-February, the sports fields are closed annually. During this time, licenses are not given to organized sports clubs.

 

Pros:

• It's quiet.

• Secluded in a neighborhood/park where not many people are aware of its presence.

• Street location isn't very busy.

• Plenty of parking

• Pick up bags are provided

• Bathroom facilities (port-a-potty)

• Chairs for seating

• Plenty of shaded areas

• Not very muddy, even after it rained a couple of days ago.

• Fairly large

 

Cons:

• Location! No one knows it's there, which adds onto the next one.

• No one ever comes. I've been several times, and I've only ever seen one other dog come. At various times of the day.

• Seating is provided, but the majority of the chairs are really dirty.

• There are water facilities, but just a spicket. 

• Only one park, not separated into sizes.

• Fair distance away from the parking lot, with no pathway to the park.

 

All and all, it's a nice park and it’s worth making the trip for. It's definitely an oasis for the locals.
